
Marketing and Development Manager

Salary Range: $63,000.00 To $72,000.00 Annually
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing and Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic communications and marketing initiatives that elevate the organization’s visibility, increase donor and community engagement, and support fundraising goals. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is passionate about mission-driven work, experienced in nonprofit communications that demonstrates expertise and compassion for health and social equity issues related to HIV and LGBTQ populations. Act as the primary liaison between the agency and the community, establishing strong relationships with key partners and referral sources. Supervise and manage agency branding, advertising and all social media platforms, website-related media. Train and oversee the Community Engagement Community Specialist and interns. Develop and manage the marketing department's budget and comprehensive fundraising plan and expense budget approved by the Executive Director (ED). Create and maintain an inventory of all print materials i.e. brochures, business cards, flyers, and marketing materials as needed. Plan events/workshops, activities, or programs in response to community needs, AARC's mission, and funder initiatives Assist in copywriting, editing, and proofreading for agency materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in messaging and communication efforts. Plan and implement the organization's annual giving campaign and other special events fundraising to meet annual goals. Identify and cultivate donors, including corporate and foundation donors. Plan and execute special events that engage donors and raise funds for the organization. Develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials. Oversee donor record-keeping and provide regular progress reports on fundraising goals and expenses. Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop fundraising strategies and goals. Conduct research on prospective private, corporate, foundation, and government funders. Participate in grant writing in a collaborative "team approach" with internal staff members. Other
Develop and facilitate HIV and LGBTQ cultural sensitivity training for new employees as an integral part of AARC’s comprehensive staff development, in collaboration with Human Resources & the Director of Compliance. Perform miscellaneous work assignments or special projects as required. Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. 3-5 years’ communications or marketing experience, preferably in a nonprofit organization. Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects and meet deadlines. Highly organized and detail oriented, with the ability to record and manage donor information effectively. Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities. Demonstrates a high confidence level to interact with various stakeholders at all levels. Extensive knowledge of marketing strategies, channels, and branding. Excellent oral and written communication skills needed. Knowledge of HIV prevention, treatment, and LGBTQ health and culture preferred.
