Job Summary The Assistant Facilities Director will assist the Facilities Director in overseeing the day-to-day and long-term function of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management. This position will support the management of facilities operations, directing of routine maintenance, responding to urgent situations, and conducting site inspections. This position will assist to minimize disruptions to business operations, improve working conditions, and create a safe and comfortable environment for customers and employees.
Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
Supports all aspects of building maintenance and needs, including preventative and routine maintenance programs for all facilities and equipment
Assists in the management of facility-related furnishings and equipment, including purchasing for new, renovated or current buildings, transporting between facilities or storage locations, and coordinating the removal of dilapidated items
Inspects facilities and equipment on a regular basis to ensure safety and efficiency
Contributes to the creation of annual facilities operating and improvement budgets and monitors throughout the year
Performs repairs on equipment, furniture, and various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and contacts respective contractors or vendors for work beyond the scope of internal expertise and/or authority
Assists in the vetting, procuring, and overseeing of current and prospective contractors and vendors, works with the legal and risk departments to negotiate, approve, and assess
Ensures property grounds are maintained and prepared for seasonal changes in order to preserve safety, as well as visual appeal
Monitors and processes invoices for payment, as needed
Provides assessments and improvement recommendations for current locations, proposes plans and standards for future endeavors and facilities
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and laws
Maintains records of applicable surveys, inspections, repairs, and equipment testing so they are available for regulatory agencies, budget purposes, preventative maintenance schedules, or as needed
Transports and operates various equipment ranging from hand tools to parade supplies, including tents, signs, and parade train
Assists with the setup and teardown of events and activities throughout the year, including occasional weekends
Education, Experience and Qualifications Education
Required: High School or GED
Preferred: Associate Degree or degree in facilities management, engineering, property management and/or related field
Years of Experience
Minimum: 5 years of experience in facilities management and/or maintenance work

Travel Requirements Travel required to facilitate maintenance in all markets and facilities. Frequency: Frequently.
