International Tax Strategy Specialist (Hybrid Beachwood, OH or Houston, TX)
A leading global organization is seeking an experienced International Tax Strategy Specialist to join its corporate tax team. This senior-level role plays a critical part in U.S. international tax compliance, ASC 740 provision work, and strategic planning initiatives across a complex multinational environment. What You'll Do
Oversee and review complex U.S. international tax calculations, including FTC, Subpart F, GILTI, and FDII Manage the full U.S. international tax compliance process, including preparation and review of: Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, 1118 All supporting international workpapers Lead preparation and review of U.S. international components of the quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision, including reconciliations and disclosures Analyze the U.S. tax implications of global transactions, reorganizations, supply chain changes, and M&A Monitor and interpret new international tax legislation; model impacts and present recommendations to leadership Mentor and develop junior tax team members, reviewing work for accuracy and technical soundness Manage inquiries from internal/external auditors and defend tax positions Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and technology enhancements Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum 6 years of U.S. international tax experience Must live within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH or Houston, TX Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship Preferred Qualifications
CPA or Master of Taxation (MTax) strongly preferred Public accounting experience (Big 4 or national firm) highly valued Skills & Expertise
Deep technical command of U.S. international tax rules, including: Subpart F, GILTI, FDII, BEAT Foreign tax credits E&P and transfer pricing fundamentals Advanced experience with CorpTax or OneSource, plus ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) Expert-level Excel modeling skills Proven ability to research, document, and defend complex tax positions Strong leadership and mentoring skills Exceptional project management and executive communication skills Strategic thinker with a proactive, analytical approach Ability to travel up to 10% Position Details
