Our client a leader in the Safety and Consulting Industry is looking to hire a Senior Director, Workforce & Rescue solutions. This role is newly vacated.

Our client is seeking someone with experience with third-party safety services to Fortune 500s, crown corps and GCs. The Senior Director will lead a team of ~30-60 safety professionals that work through several different client projects.

Our clients hire us to provide safety officer personnel for the duration of the construction project, confined space rescue technicians, site safety inspections, and fire watch to oversee our client’s protocols and procedures on construction sites (for industrial, infrastructure, hydro, logistics, and some commercial real estate) to ensure the well‑being of all workers and compliance with safety regulations.

Identifying new clients and projects

Connect with professional network

Maintain a list of industry contacts

Make regular contact with network

Take contacts to lunch/dinner on regular basis to maintain rapport

Ask about upcoming projects

Ask about competitors activities

Search on bid portals

Log onto bidding sites on a bi‑weekly basis

Filter projects

Communicate with existing client contacts to understand upcoming projects

Call client contacts on a quarterly basis

Attend trade shows

Identify trade shows

Acquire marketing materials

Interact with trade show prospects

Record and follow up with leads

Lead the scheduling personnel across projects

Understand all project personnel requirements

Monitor vacation requests

Create and update schedule spreadsheet

Move employees among projects

Send resumes to client to get sign off before personnel go on site

Lead the Audit and quality of work from our employees

Overseeing quality of safety services

Attend job sites

Understand project specific safety issues across industries and services

Call employees to ask about actions being taken on site

Setting up new jobs to meet client needs

Speak to project manager to understand the scope

Identify the people in charge on each project

Walk employees through what is happening on site either in person or via phone

Identify and communicate special circumstances, policies and preferences for each client

Managing and coaching junior employees

Connect with junior employees on a regular basis to touch base

Connect with employees bi‑weekly

Speak positively about the career prospects at the firm and room for growth

Recommend training and new learning opportunities when employees are capable

Take employees to lunch to develop culture and rapport

Reprimand and discipline employees

Go‑to contact for employee questions on safety/client requests

Recommend specific actions when ambiguity exists

Determine if we can meet client requests

Understanding the scope of our services and the capabilities of our roster to accept or decline unique requests

Manage Personnel changes on existing sites (move, fire, replace)

Monitor employee performance

Speak to project manager on active job sites to ask how employee is doing

Speak to other employees on the project to seek feedback

Attend site and check quality and determine if employee is meeting expectations

Are forms filled correctly

Is equipment set up properly

Is job board correct

Is PPE being worn

Anticipate if pipeline of work require employees be moved across sites

Deal with 911 calls and issues (Principal 1)

Answer the phone at all times 24/7 and handle issues regardless of personal commitments

Requirements

Degree or Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field

10+ years of proven experience as a Construction Safety Manager or a similar role in industrial, infrastructure, hydro, logistics, and commercial real estate projects

CRSP, NCSO or equivalent a strong asset

Ability to deal with several stakeholders, including clients, GCs, subtrades, MOL inspectors etc

Third party construction safety experience a valuable asset

In‑depth knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.

Strong leadership, mentorship, and communication skills.

Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.

Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.

$120,000 - $150,000 a year
