Key Responsibilities
The Director, Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management OSD is responsible for leading the external manufacturing supplier portfolio.
Lead sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management (SRM), supplier portfolio strategy, and market and risk intelligence and risk mitigation.
Manage business relationships with multiple contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) and/or direct material suppliers supporting the Small Molecule OSD Clinical and Commercial product portfolio.
Build strategic partnerships internally and with suppliers through excellent communication and collaboration.
Essential Functions
Lead strategic sourcing, contracting, supplier strategy, supplier relationship management (SRM), and market and risk intelligence and mitigation for suppliers supporting the OSD clinical and commercial product portfolio.
Develop and implement the supplier portfolio strategy for the modality.
Lead sourcing, contract negotiations, competitive bidding process, ensure contract compliance, and SRM.
Use standardized tools for sourcing and contracting processes.
Execute SRM governance for suppliers based on segmentation and governance model.
Lead client and BRM meetings, including coordinating with internal stakeholders on agenda and meeting dates.
Lead external network assessment and mitigation of market and supplier risks.
Lead or oversee RFPs/RFQs/RFIs.
Negotiate contracts such as Confidentiality Agreements, Master Supply and Services Agreements, Amendments, PSAs, SOWs, and LOI/MOUs as needed.
Represent assigned modality/area on governance committees as needed/assigned.
Lead and participate in Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement projects.
Stay informed about relevant Development and Commercial CDMO and material supplier capabilities, offerings, capacities, etc. as related to potential or known client pipeline needs.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure SSSM supports PDM and stakeholder strategic objectives.
Qualifications
At least 7 years experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech organization or relevant manufacturing environment and at least 5 years in Strategic Sourcing (or equivalent) function.
Prior experience leading outsourced development and manufacturing service providers and/or direct material suppliers.
Knowledge of GMPs and associated regulations (21CFR parts 11, 210, 211, 820).
Extensive experience negotiating complex agreements.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple programs/projects; sound organizational and time management skills, including cross‑functional projects.
Ability to develop concise presentations to convey complex issues to senior management.
Ability to work under uncertainty and resolve conflict constructively.
Ability to solve highly complex problems through ingenuity and collaboration with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
This position may require up to 20% domestic and/or international travel.
