Position Summary Coordinates the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional practices with Mathematics for K‑12 students and provides leadership and coordination to create an aligned and articulated mathematics instructional program.
Qualifications Education/Certification:
Requires valid Missouri teaching certification.
Math certification (5‑9 and/or 9‑12) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of three years as a classroom teacher.
Minimum of three years in mathematics education.
Experience serving as a math teacher, math chair, or curriculum coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the review, development and revision of all mathematics programs and related curriculum documents and materials.
Work cooperatively with directors, coordinators, building administrators and instructional coaches to develop and supervise mathematics instructional programming.
Plan, improve and oversee district curriculum and curriculum‑based assessments in mathematics.
Use evaluative findings, including student achievement data, to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness.
Involve instructional staff in evaluating and selecting instructional materials to meet student learning needs.
Develop and conduct/arrange professional development sessions on instruction delivery, enriched learning and new instructional practices in mathematics.
Disseminate information regarding current research and significant developments in mathematics education.
Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to teachers for improvement and innovation.
Attend and present at professional development sessions.
Assist in communicating information to families and community members about mathematics courses and curriculum.
Support teachers as they monitor implementation of their school improvement plans.
Oversee academic assessment procedures (formal and informal) to monitor student progress.
Guide the instructional staff in developing short‑term and long‑term classroom goals and assist with priorities and timelines.
Assist with implementation of evidence‑based practices in mathematics instruction.
Build the capacity of school‑based mathematics teams for continuous improvement.
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Keep informed of and comply with district policies and regulations.
Perform such tasks and assume other responsibilities assigned by Executive Leadership.
Other duties as assigned.
