Overview The Pursuit Specialist provides critical support for the project procurement process and pursuit of new business. Daily responsibilities include developing and submitting multidisciplinary and collaborative proposals to a wide range of private and public sector clients. Coordinates proposal response and team assignments; supports proposal development and writing; writes and edits proposal narratives; and serves as proposal liaison to all Market Sector groups. Must champion and maintain DAVIS’ brand standards across the board.

Responsibilities

Perform responsibilities with excellence in service, integrity and building relationships as exemplified in DAVIS core values.

Champion the DAVIS culture.

Manage the development of multiple proposals; handle proposal response production, develop RFP/RFQ response layout, coordinate draft materials, create and maintain proposal responsibility matrices and content outlines, and deliver final proposals.

Provide strategic guidance and coaching throughout the proposal and presentation process.

Write, edit, and proofread comprehensive narrative and proposal materials, translating technical verbiage into clear vocabulary, maintaining continuity of writing style, and advising on style guide updates.

Ensure compliance with RFP/RFQ requirements.

Stay current with DAVIS projects, potential projects, staffing, services, differentiators, experience, personnel information, and history.

Lead presentation formatting and content development specific to each proposal and client touch points.

Collaborate with Market Sectors and key stakeholders to formulate and submit proposals, maximizing DAVIS’ marketing strategy and activity.

Maintain proposal quality management by creating templates, checklists, and boilerplate documents.

Maintain and update marketing knowledge base (project descriptions, employee resumes & biographies, professional award & certification documents).

Contribute to broader marketing efforts and initiatives.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Special Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Construction, English, Marketing or related field.

At least five (5) years’ experience, with a minimum of two (2) years focused on proposal and presentation development for private and public sector projects.

Expert organizational and time‑management skills; coordinate projects, people, prioritize and track multiple tasks, meet deadlines.

Expert use of MS Office 2010, graphics and presentation programs (Adobe CS, Acrobat, Prezi).

Strong technical writing, editing and proofreading experience; creatively appeals to varied audiences.

Experience with GSA proposal forms and technical government proposal preparation.

Decision‑making, research, analytical problem‑solving skills.

Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact at all organizational levels.

MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) and/or LEED accreditation (preferred).

Interest in sustainability and community service.

Understanding of the A/E/C industry, its dynamics, and touchpoints.

Physical Job Demands Reaching above and below, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and bending; occasional lift/carry/move up to 25 pounds; manual dexterity in operating office equipment; requires high concentration in busy office environment.

Salary Base salary range: $80,000.00 - $105,000.00
