
Trust & Estate Paralegal (NY, New York City)

As a Paralegal for the NewEdge Family Office, you will be a part of the Wealth Strategy practice focused on reviewing, summarizing estate planning documents, including trust, entity and transactional documents. While your primary responsibilities will be to support the family office, you will also assist NewEdge Wealth advisors navigate estate planning software solutions.
This role is highly detail-oriented and process-driven, supporting ultra-high-net-worth client structures that may include multiple trusts, entities, real estate holdings, and operating businesses. The paralegal will act as the central hub for document intake, issue spotting, execution coordination, and ongoing document maintenance.
The position is ideal for a professional who enjoys deep document work, complex structures, and building organized systems around sophisticated planning.
Duties & Responsibilities Document Review and Analysis
Review estate planning documents, including:
Revocable and irrevocable trusts
Wills and codicils
Powers of attorney and healthcare directives
Review entity documents, including:
LLC operating agreements
Partnership agreements
Shareholder agreements
Review transactional documents, including:
Purchase agreements
Loan documents
Real estate contracts
Identify key provisions such as:
Trustee and fiduciary roles
Distribution standards
Powers of appointment
Tax allocation provisions
Ownership structures
Summarize documents into standardized internal formats and checklists.
Document Management & Organization
Maintain and organize digital and physical document files.
Create and maintain document summaries and tracking logs.
Ensure all planning documents are complete, signed, and properly executed.
Track key deadlines, notices, and administrative requirements.
Coordination & Execution Support
Coordinate with:
Outside attorneys
Advisors
Trustees
Custodians
Required Skills/ Abilities
Paralegal certificate preferred.
3–7 years of experience in:
Estate planning
Trust and estate administration
Corporate or transactional law
Family office or wealth management environment
Strong document review and issue-spotting ability.
Experience with estate and entity documents.
Proficiency in:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Document management systems
Experience with trust or estate planning software a plus.
Salary: $75,000 – $115,000, based on experience
