
Field Service Representative I or II

The Role
We\'re looking for one great Field Service Representative to join the YVEA engineering team. In this role, you\'ll be the hands-on connection between our cooperative and the members we serve, handling service requests, designing line extensions, inspecting job sites, and keeping our system records up to date, all across the stunning terrain of Northwest Colorado.
If you\'re newer to the field, you\'ll build your skills alongside experienced FSRs with plenty of mentorship along the way. If you\'re already seasoned, you\'ll step in and take ownership of complex projects from day one.
What You'll Do
Work with members on requests for new, revised, and relocated electric services
Design overhead and underground distribution line extensions
Prepare staking sheets, material breakdowns, and project cost estimates
Conduct job site inspections and verify compliance with RUS, NESC, and NEC standards
Collect GPS field data for mapping and easement documentation
Participate in line patrols and field-checking of system maps and records
Coordinate with other utilities on shared construction activities
Support electronic workflow and documentation processes
What We\'re Looking For The ideal candidate brings some combination of the following: you don\'t need to check every box:
Experience in distribution line design, overhead or underground construction, or a related field
Familiarity with line design software, AutoCAD, or NISC ABS/CIS systems
Knowledge of RUS construction standards, NESC, or NEC requirements
An associate degree or equivalent hands-on experience
Strong communication skills and a member-first attitude
Integrity, good judgment, and the ability to work independently as skills develop
Minimum of four years\' experience in Field Engineering on an electric distribution system. (FSR II)
Completion of a Certified Staking and Line Design program is preferred. (FSR II)
Requires expertise in Line design software, AutoCAD, NISC\'s ABS and CIS systems, hand sketching, and simple drafting. (FSR II)
Minimum of 4 years\' experience with overhead and underground distribution construction. (FSR II)
