
Sr. Interior Designer and Drafter

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Princeton, NJ. Candidates must live within a reasonable commuting distance and be available to work on-site daily. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interior Designer and Drafter to join our collaborative studio. This role is ideal for a designer who is equally passionate about creative design and technical execution, with strong experience in residential construction, documentation, and 3D modeling.
You will play a key role in developing and executing high-end residential projects from concept through installation, working closely with clients, architects, contractors, and the internal team.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing and executing luxury ground-up construction and renovation projects from initiation through completion
Develop space plans, design concepts, and detailed construction drawings
Produce and maintain accurate 3D models and full drawing sets
Create furniture plans, electrical plans, interior elevations, and shop drawings
Prepare finish schedules, paint schedules, and material specificationsResearch, source, and price furniture, fixtures, and finishes (FF&E)
Prepare client presentations and proposals
Coordinate and attend client meetings and site visits
Collaborate with architects, contractors, vendors, and consultants
Manage a remote draftsperson and support team coordination
Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and project cost tracking
Support installations, including site coordination, deliveries, and styling
Maintain accurate project documentation and hourly billing records
Resolve product issues with vendors, requiring knowledge of materials, finishes, and fabrication
Qualifications
5 to 7 years of professional experience in high-end residential interior design
Strong proficiency in SketchUp and LayOut, AutoCAD, or Chief Architect
Deep understanding of construction documentation and residential building processes
Experience with 3D modeling as a core part of the design workflow
Excellent communication and client management skills
Highly organized with strong critical thinking skills and exceptional attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with Materio software is a plus
Familiarity with Canva, Photoshop, and Excel preferred
Knowledge of high-end custom furniture and materials
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field preferred
Familiarity with local building codes and regulations is a plus
Additional Requirements

Must be willing to work full-time in the office
Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for site visits
Ability to assist with installations and on-site project needs
