NOW HIRING – SENIOR PARKS & RECREATION LEADER (SPORTS)
City of Hartselle – Parks & Recreation Department
If you are passionate about community sports and recreation and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, the City of Hartselle is looking for a full‑time Senior Parks & Recreation Leader to organize and coordinate youth and adult sports leagues.
Position Summary:
This leadership role is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing recreational sports programs under the direction of the Parks & Recreation Director. You will manage sports league logistics, coordinate fields and facilities, and supervise part‑time personnel to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for participants of all ages.
Plan and coordinate adult and youth sports leagues
Manage scheduling of fields, gyms, and other recreational facilities
Supervise seasonal staff and sports officials
Collaborate with community partners and volunteers
Attend off‑site meetings, trainings, and seminars as needed
Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required
High school diploma or GED (required)
3–4 years of experience in youth or adult sports league administration
Strong leadership and communication skills
Must be able to work nonstandard hours and travel occasionally
Starting pay:
$21.72/hour (based on experience)
Family coverage available for just $240/month
Vacation and sick leave
