Job Title Group Sales & Catering Assistant

Job Summary The Group Sales & Catering Assistant is a flexible, hands‑on support role that works directly with the Group Sales Manager to ensure successful execution of group events and catering operations. This position adapts to daily operational needs and may assist with event coordination, guest service, food preparation, and event setup. Responsibilities will vary based on business demands, and the role requires a team‑oriented mindset and willingness to support multiple departments.

Job Responsibilities

Provide direct support to the Group Sales Manager in all aspects of group events and catering operations.

Assist with event coordination and logistics, including preparation, setup, execution, and breakdown of group events.

Support client communication as needed, including responding to inquiries or assisting with event details, under the direction of the Group Sales Manager.

Help prepare event materials such as signage, layouts, and service plans.

Physically set up catering areas, including tables, serving lines, and equipment.

Step into service roles during events as needed (serving food, managing stations, assisting guests, etc.).

Operate a cash register and provide guest service during non‑event periods.

Assist in kitchen operations as needed, including food prep, portioning, stocking, and maintaining cleanliness.

Monitor and restock catering supplies and assist with inventory organization.

Respond to real‑time operational needs and fill gaps in staffing across catering, group sales, or food service areas.

Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience

Customer service experience preferred

Food service, hospitality, or event experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a team‑oriented mindset

Ability to follow direction and adapt to changing priorities throughout the day

Ability to remain organized and detail‑oriented in a busy event environment

Ability to work independently or as part of a team as needed

Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to support multiple departments as required

Ability to provide professional and positive guest service in all situations

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and supplies as needed

Ability to stand, walk, and remain active for extended periods of time

Ability to set up and break down event spaces, including tables and catering equipment

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays during operating season
