Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional is responsible for managing the daily operations of the golf courses, delivering exceptional customer service, teaching lessons, organizing events and tournaments, and supporting the overall golf program. This role combines strong interpersonal skills with a deep knowledge of the game and business of golf.
Experience Required PGA Membership or PGA Apprentice in good standing (or equivalent certification).
Minimum 2 years of experience in golf operations and instruction.
Experience in club fitting and use of launch monitor technology.
Background in golf retail and merchandising.
CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
Bilingual abilities are an advantage.
Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
Knowledge of golf POS systems, tournament software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
Essential Responsibilities
Customer Service & Member Relations:
Provide friendly, professional service to members and guests.
Address customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Promote a welcoming and inclusive golf environment.
Golf Operations:
Manage tee time bookings, golf cart fleet, and pace of play.
Oversee daily operations including the golf shop, practice facilities, and first tee.
Assist with inventory control, merchandising, and retail sales in the pro shop.
Instruction & Coaching:
Provide individual and group golf lessons to players of all skill levels.
Conduct clinics, junior programs, and club fittings.
Stay current on instructional techniques and golf equipment trends.
Tournament & Event Management:
Plan, coordinate, and execute golf tournaments and special events.
Work with members or event organizers to ensure seamless experiences.
Maintain accurate scoring and manage tournament software.
Facility Management:
Ensure the golf courses and practice facilities are maintained to high standards.
Coordinate with maintenance staff to address any course issues or needs.
Administrative Duties:
Maintain records for memberships, lessons, and tournaments.
Help with budgeting, payroll, and scheduling for golf operations staff.
Monitor and report on key performance metrics.
