The Opportunity
Distribution Designer II is responsible for the creation of electric distribution designs. This role is to support our clients
in Colorado . The Distribution Designer II coordinates with the clients, electric customers, and construction crews. Fieldwork includes a collection of existing asset data before design creation and equipment location staking at the time of construction. Distribution Designer II can work independently and provides training and support for the Distribution Designer I role. What You’ll Do
Create safe and efficient electric distribution design using company standards Communicate with engineers for design approval Understand and follow client standards and changes to client needs Be proficient in a variety of desktop, mobile, and survey software used for the design process Have experience with underground and/or overhead distribution design Perform field data collection of existing assets Stake facilities – may require survey‑grade technology Create staking sheets Use quality checklists and ensure a quality product is delivered Review city, county, and state permit applications Share knowledge with the design team, scheduling, clients, and crews Assist with mentoring of junior staff Act as point of contact for distribution customers, coordinating with clients, engineers, scheduling, right‑of‑way, third‑party utilities, and construction crews Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure milestone deadlines are met Provide continuous updates on jobs to all parties involved with accurate date projections What We Expect From You
At minimum a two‑year technical degree in engineering or related construction, CAD, or GIS experience Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in distribution design, CAD, GIS, or distribution construction Proficiency and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Trimble Access, O‑Calc, PLSCADD, GIS, or other distribution design software and tools Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities Demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills Ability to work well within a team Takes ownership of quality of work Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S. Benefits
