Overview
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Tool Designer for a contract opportunity in Palmdale, CA.
Duration: 6 months (possibility of extension). Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Rate up to $95.
Responsibilities The Tool Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving production tooling used in the manufacturing and assembly of aircraft interior components.
Create detailed CAD drawings for tooling, fixtures, and gauges used in manufacturing.
Generate detailed drawings for tooling, fixturing, gaging, and other CAD model designs while meeting aggressive scheduling targets.
Support design and manufacturing of tools and dies, and collaborate across engineering disciplines.
Qualifications Minimum 1 year experience and ability to obtain Security Access within 6 weeks of submission.
Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in metal stamping tool design, including progressive, transfer, and/or other stamping concepts.
Proficient in SolidWorks/Logo Press as primary design software and CadKey as secondary archive support software.
Experience creating tooling drawings, fixtures and measuring equipment.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and ability to analyze and interpret electrical schematics and drawings.
