Traveling Support Associate – Capital City Bank – More than your bank. Your banker. Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 Hours per week.

General Summary Under general supervision, the associate cashes checks, receives deposits, performs a variety of transactions as requested by the client, balances transactions, maintains cash drawer, provides quality client service, answers general questions regarding bank products/services, recommends additional services and makes referrals, travels and works in offices with staffing shortages on the teller line. The associate will drive on behalf of the bank and must adhere to Motor Vehicle Guidelines. All associates practice discretion with confidential client information.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Recommends and refers additional bank services and products, retaining working knowledge of all bank services and products.

Accepts deposits and withdrawals from clients on business, personal and savings accounts.

Accepts checks for cashing or payment and verifies endorsements and funds.

Sells official checks and traveler's checks.

Accepts consumer/commercial and other bank loan payments.

Works deposits from night depository.

Balances money in drawer with teller machine daily.

Opens and closes teller window in accordance with procedures.

Completes Currency Transaction Report (CTR) and holding forms as required.

Attends meetings as required.

Issues cash advances.

Six‑month commitment to position is required prior to internal posting for other positions within the bank.

Associated Duties Provides additional support to manager and department colleagues, and completes all assigned/required bank training within established timelines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, clean driving record.

Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication and positive interaction with clients and associates.

Ability to follow detailed instructions and exercise judgment.

Concentration to avoid counting mistakes.

Basic mathematical computation skills using various business machines and/or computers.

Initiative and ability to work with little supervision.

Sound judgment.

Stands for long periods of time.

Prints legibly and accurately on forms and records.

Sales experience preferable, particularly in cross‑marketing products and services.

Age 18 or older for coverage under insurance bond.

Adheres to bank’s Motor Vehicle Guidelines.

Education Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred but not required. Relevant experience may substitute for education requirement. Successful completion of in‑house training or other approved program is a plus.

Working Conditions

Travel to various offices; driving required.

Regular contact with clients, associates and supervisor.

Handling of heavy coins.

Exposure to slightly unclean environment due to currency handling.

May need to relocate or telecommute during major disruptions (natural disaster, epidemic, etc.) to ensure business continuity.
