The Director of Wellness Programming plans, prepares, and directs the overall operation of resident and family engagement, oversees the resident enrichment department and MBK signature programs in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines, MBK policies, and procedures. This role ensures activities meet the interests and well-being of each resident and supports MBK’s goal to be the senior living provider of choice in every market served. Essential Job Duties
Create and lead resident programs according to program standards and resident preferences. Create and submit a monthly calendar of events. Create and submit a monthly newsletter for residents, staff, and families. Create and maintain social media under the MBK Home Office umbrella. Coordinate with team members to plan, execute, and attend holidays and celebratory events. Survey residents to determine activities of interest. Facilitate the resident activity planning committee to ensure participation in calendar development. Overseeing Transportation Of Residents
Assist with safe loading, unloading, seating, and transporting residents in community vehicles and drive when needed. Oversee scheduling of transportation for recreational and medical outings. Evaluate transportation program to ensure customer satisfaction. Understand and fulfill all state, federal, and local regulations for safe vehicles and required credentials/licensing for drivers. Recruitment, Training, and Supervision
Recruit, hire, train, motivate, and supervise department staff in accordance with company policies, procedures, and core values. Develop and train volunteers in the community to assist with activities or events; track participation and maintain volunteer files per regulations. Arrange for outside vendors to conduct programs and process invoices promptly. Additional Responsibilities
Manage and track budget spending and goals. Encourage resident participation in activities; work with the director of health services to involve caregivers in programs. Facilitate and conduct resident programs within connections for living where applicable. Support community marketing through positive interactions with residents, families, and guests. Alert care staff to medical or care needs of residents and ensure resident information (traditions and preferences) is collected per policy. Non-Essential Job Duties
Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the Executive Director. Instruct visitors to sign in when entering the community. Obtain and maintain required state certifications and licensure. Meet with prospective residents to review enrichment programs and offerings; conduct community tours for prospects and families. Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
Activities Assistant: 1 to 3 employees; Transportation: 1 to 3 employees. Certification in Recreational Activity Leadership (APNCC/NAAPCC or equivalent) or similar; prior related experience desirable; supervisory experience preferable. Familiarity with several Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Publisher, Photoshop) desirable; Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy, gerontology, music, art or similar preferable; knowledge of regulations regarding residents’ rights. Requirements
High school diploma or GED; State-approved Activity Director Certification or ability to obtain. Must be over 18; background clearance and negative TB test required. Excellent communication in English (speaking, writing, reading). Solid PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office; capable of using office equipment. Professional demeanor at all times; adhere to grooming and dress standards. Valid driver’s license and valid insurance. Physical Demands
Must be mobile and able to perform physical requirements (bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, repetitive motion). Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods; move between community areas as needed. Lift/carry up to 30 lbs and push up to 20 lbs as necessary. Pay
