The Undergraduate Admissions Office seeks to meet university enrollment goals by recruiting undergraduate applicants, counseling prospects, reviewing credentials, and providing data for advising and enrollment planning. Mission: to provide quality service, promote educational opportunities, and facilitate enrollment at the University. The office collaborates with faculty, support units, high school counselors, parents, and community college counselors to recruit qualified students. Primary Purpose of Position
The Assistant Director of Recruitment & Technology manages a recruitment territory and serves as the primary Slate Captain for the Undergraduate Admissions team. This role acts as a liaison between the recruitment team and the operations/IT unit, ensuring that Slate portals, communications, and workflows are optimized for the recruitment cycle. The assistant director represents the Admissions Office and the University in various settings and must make independent decisions, communicate policies, provide expert counseling to prospective students and families. Summary of Position Responsibilities
Recruitment & Territory Management Manage a designated geographic territory and develop a strategic plan to meet enrollment goals. Conduct high school visits, attend college fairs, and host information sessions (in-person and virtual) to represent the University and its programs. Evaluate undergraduate applications for admission using professional judgment and institutional standards via Slate Reader. Provide guidance to prospective students and families regarding admissions, financial aid, and academic offerings via phone, email, and in-person. Slate CRM Strategy & Operations Serve as a primary "super-user" and functional help desk for Slate, resolving technical CRM hurdles to ensure daily operations. Design and lead ongoing Slate training and create SOP documentation to increase staff proficiency. Collaborate to build automated communication tracks within Slate (emails, SMS, drip campaigns) to engage students through the enrollment funnel. Develop custom Slate Queries to track territory metrics and monitor recruitment targets. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with campus departments to update portals into functional Slate workflows and automate processes as needed. Identify opportunities within Slate to increase efficiency and data accuracy. Other Duties Support large-scale events (Open House, Admitted Student Days, etc.). Stay current on admissions trends and Slate updates through webinars and user groups. Participate in departmental or University-wide task forces as assigned. Assist with counseling to ensure high levels of customer service. Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience
Master's Degree required or Bachelor's Degree with equivalent experience. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience in Technolutions Slate, with expertise in building queries, the Deliver module, events, and related communications. Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences; experience developing training documentation. Strong analytical skills with experience creating dashboards, reports, and automated processes to drive recruitment strategy. Familiarity with HTML/CSS, SQL, or Liquid Markup to customize Slate Portals, emails, and landing pages. Experience in undergraduate admissions recruitment, territory management, and application review; excellent communication skills. Certifications/Licenses
