Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative (Insurance CSR)

About the Role Seeking to add an experienced Commercial Lines Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our insurance agency. This position handles daily client service, policy updates, endorsements, certificates of insurance, renewals, and overall account support. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in commercial insurance, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple accounts in a fast‑paced agency environment. This position is located in person at our Fort Wayne office.
Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Account Management
Serve as the primary contact for assigned commercial insurance accounts.
Handle customer requests related to policy changes, coverage questions, billing, and documentation.
Communicate professionally with clients via phone, email, and written correspondence.
Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
Renewal & Marketing Support
Collect and update applications, loss runs, schedules, and underwriting information.
Prepare and organize submission packets for new business and renewal marketing.
Collaborate with underwriters to obtain quotes, review coverage options, and resolve open items.
Policy Processing & Documentation
Process endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements, and other policy transactions.
Prepare and issue certificates of insurance (COIs), proposals, binders, auto ID cards, and renewal documents.
Maintain accurate and organized electronic files within the agency management system.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Review policies and carrier documents for accuracy.
Ensure procedures and state insurance regulations are followed.
Assist with initial claims reporting and communication as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Indiana Property & Casualty License.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a commercial insurance agency or brokerage.
Strong knowledge of commercial lines insurance (GL, Property, Auto, Workers Comp, Umbrella, specialty lines).
Familiarity with agency workflows, rating processes, and underwriting guidelines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and insurance carrier online portals.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Applied EPIC or another agency management system.
Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management abilities.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Full‑time, in‑office position.
