We are currently seeking an

Electrical Designer

in the

Minneapolis, MN

office. The role involves working closely with a team of experienced engineers and consultants to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients, ensuring positive outcomes and meeting project goals.

Principal Responsibilities

Assist in the design and analysis of electrical systems, utilizing engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and company standards.

Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.

Support the execution of consulting projects, assisting in project planning, scheduling, and meeting deadlines.

Document design decisions and progress, monitoring project design progress.

Analyze low- to medium‑complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions in collaboration with senior engineers.

Participate in quality control processes to ensure designs meet industry and client standards.

Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.

Prioritize safety in all engineering work and mitigate potential safety risks.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.

Required Skills/Abilities

Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts for technical plans and specifications.

Strong technical and analytical skills, including circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics for building electrical system design.

Experience with industry‑standard engineering software (e.g., AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, ComCheck, Adobe or Bluebeam Revu, BIM software, CTC Revit Add‑In Tools).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Education and Experience

Associates degree, certificate, or higher in Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Engineering preferred.

Minimum three years of experience in building design consulting or construction industry; four years preferred.

Physical Requirements

Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, grasp or pull objects.

Limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.

Salary Range $68,000 – $90,000 annually, based on experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
