
Mortgage Lending Underwriter Level III

OBJECTIVE Review member loan applications, looking for solutions to member requests within the designated lending authority level. Maintain a working knowledge of the current lending guidelines making loan decisions in line with Clearview’s Credit Risk Appetite, placing members in the best possible solution for their unique situation. Fulfill Clearview’s Vision, Purpose, Mission and Values.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; additional education or job specific skills training
Minimum 5 years’ underwriting or equivalent advanced risk mitigation and decision-making experience required
Proven ability to look for solutions beyond an original request
Proven decision-making and analytical skills
Detail oriented and excellent follow through techniques
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Demonstrates ability to be adaptable
Strong experience using various software programs
Demonstrates general knowledge of or willingness to learn how AI tools are being used in a responsible way to improve results, adapt workflows, and support a culture of innovation.
Excellent communication and service skills both internally and externally
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Loan Underwriting and Risk Management – 75%
Analyze loan applications within the designated lending authority (Level III), ensure adherence to the lending policies and guidelines
Ask questions, consulting with loan officers to help obtain information needed to come to a loan decision
Display ability to effectively utilize lending solutions to meet member needs
Maintain a thorough knowledge of and apply loan guidelines, policies and procedures
Accurately calculated and apply lending metrics, balancing risks to come to a reasoned, fair, and consistent loan decision within Clearview’s Risk Appetite
Analyze loan documentation for quality and compliance
Consistently demonstrate ability to achieve established goals
Member and Employee Experience – 15%
Promote a team environment and provide suggestions for improving lending processes
Attend required meetings, classes, trainings, and complete the minimum Linked-In Learning Career Pathing courses for personal and skill development
Community Engagement & Brand Awareness– 5%
Participate in and support Clearview’s commitment to the communities we serve
Actively talk about Clearview and work as a brand ambassador for the organization
Other Duties as assigned – 5%
