What You’ll Do In The Role
Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking a Director, Lead Software Engineer in Boston, MA to work closely with key Investment Management stakeholders to understand business requirements and build required technical solutions. Work within an Agile team to ensure all key technical requirements are identified, estimated, designed, implemented, and tested. Support IT systems to ensure and maintain high standards on design, security, and system availability. Coordinate with cross‑functional, technology, and business teams for day‑to‑day business operations. Ensure the team follows firm‑wide and departmental coding standards, consistent design patterns, methodologies, and documentation for all software development projects. Respond to technical issues by providing production support for Level 1 and 2 escalations. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Manager, Associate, Software Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
Java;
Spring Boot and Spring Framework;
Microservices and Web services including REST and SOAP;
JSON and XML;
JPA and Hibernate;
HTML and CSS;
JavaScript and TypeScript;
Angular;
Gradle and Maven;
Database;
SQL;
DB2;
Sybase;
MS SQL;
Snowflake Cloud Database;
Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform;
Elasticsearch;
Hazelcast;
DevOps including Jira, Git, Jenkins, Sonar, and JUnit;
Scrum and Agile Methodologies;
Investment Management business including Portfolio Management and Reporting, Performance Measurement, Attribution, Risk, and Global Investment Performance Standards.
What You Can Expect From Morgan Stanley Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $162,582 and $162,582 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
