What You’ll Do What the role is about As Director of Cloud Platform Engineering, you will lead the evolution of Teradata’s cloud deployment and platform technologies, shaping the next generation of on‑demand compute, serverless execution, automated provisioning, and scalable SaaS delivery across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
What impact this role has You will define and execute the long‑term technical strategy for cloud architecture, including multi‑tenant and single‑tenant models, event‑driven and serverless execution frameworks, regional deployment patterns, and platform standardization. Your leadership will directly impact Teradata’s ability to scale globally, onboard customers rapidly, operate reliably at enterprise scale, and optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance and resilience.

Who You’ll Work With
Lead and mentor teams across Platform Engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)
Partner closely with Product, Security, Finance, and Engineering leaders to align platform capabilities with business priorities
Collaborate with cloud provider partners and internal architecture teams to drive consistency, innovation, and operational excellence
Report into senior engineering leadership and play a critical role in shaping Teradata’s cloud and SaaS strategy
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
Proven experience leading cloud platform, infrastructure, or SaaS engineering teams at scale
Deep expertise in cloud‑native architectures, including serverless and event‑driven execution models
Strong track record designing and operating highly available, resilient, and secure distributed systems
Experience owning end‑to‑end SaaS provisioning and automation pipelines using infrastructure‑as‑code
Demonstrated ability to balance reliability, performance, security, and cost in complex cloud environments
What You’ll Bring
Hands‑on leadership experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
Expertise in infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines, and platform automation (e.g., Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Strong understanding of observability, incident management, disaster recovery, and SLA‑driven operations
Financial acumen with accountability for cloud cost optimization, usage transparency, and value alignment
A security‑first mindset, embedding IAM, compliance, and governance into platform design
A collaborative leadership style that fosters automation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
Ability to define KPIs and use metrics such as deployment frequency, provisioning time, latency, error rates, and infrastructure efficiency to drive outcomes
