MS SQL Server Consultant – Columbia, SC

Job Location: Columbia, SC

Contract, 12 months, start date May 2, 2026.

Scope of the Project The Division of Technology Services develops, implements, maintains, and supports mission‑critical applications for the Department of Social Services. We seek a highly motivated senior developer with experience in .NET architecture and MS SQL Server to lead a team in delivering new DSS Adult Protective Services Re‑Engineering projects. The candidate will serve as the systems program project lead.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of CAPSS system enhancements to support adult protective services case management policies and practices.

Develop a new standardized adult needs and strengths assessment tool and integrate it into CAPSS.

Support bi‑directional interfaces with the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education, and Department of Mental Health to meet state and federal requirements.

Maintain and operate CAPSS.

Plan and design system implementations for new CCWIS and AFCARS federal requirements.

Support development for Families First Preventive Services Act (FFPSA) as needed.

Lead development of federal reports for NAMRS reporting to support the adult protective services program.

Qualifications

Advanced experience in .NET architecture.

Proficiency with MS SQL Server.

Strong leadership and project management skills.

Experience with federal reporting and interface development.

Requirements

Current South Carolina resident; relocation not allowed.

Hybrid work schedule: 3 days onsite per week.
