KIPP, the Knowledge Is Power Program, is a national network of tuition‑free public schools educating 120,000 students in grades Pre‑K to 12 across 21 states and Washington, DC. We have a network of 16,500 educators and 175,000 students and alumni across the country. KIPP Columbus is the only KIPP school in Ohio and educates more than 2,000 students K‑12 on a 150+ acre campus in Northeast Columbus.

Community Outreach and Engagement
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, local businesses, childcare centers, and neighborhood partners to expand awareness of KIPP Columbus and strengthen recruitment pipelines.
Identify and cultivate partnerships with community‑based organizations that can promote KIPP Columbus through their networks, events, and communications.
Represent KIPP Columbus at community events such as fairs, festivals, open houses, and local gatherings to engage families, answer questions, and share information about KIPP Columbus schools and programs.
Research, identify, and coordinate opportunities to participate in community events throughout the year to promote the KIPP Columbus enrollment lottery and support application goals.
Support the planning and execution of school‑hosted community events that welcome prospective families, community organizations, and neighborhood leaders onto campus.
Distribute marketing materials and maintain visibility of KIPP Columbus across key community locations including businesses, apartment complexes, childcare providers, and community centers.
Student Recruitment and Application Acquisition
Contribute to regional enrollment goals by executing targeted student recruitment activities and meeting weekly application acquisition targets.
Conduct one‑on‑one conversations with prospective families and students to share information about KIPP Columbus and support them through the enrollment process.
Collaborate with the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager and school‑based operations teams to implement recruitment strategies aligned to regional enrollment priorities.
Lead Management and Family Engagement
Conduct proactive outreach to prospective families using established lead lists and recruitment criteria.
Maintain consistent communication with families who have expressed interest in KIPP Columbus to support them through the application and enrollment process.
Guide prospective families through the enrollment process and systems, ensuring understanding of application timelines, lottery processes, and next steps.
Record and track all recruitment leads, interactions, and outcomes in the region’s CRM or enrollment platform.
Follow up with prospective families to nurture interest and encourage application completion.
Internal Collaboration and Engagement
Collaborate closely with school‑based operations teams to support school‑level recruitment strategies and community engagement efforts.
Participate in internal family‑facing events and school activities to support family engagement and strengthen relationships with the current KIPP Columbus community.
Partner with internal teams to ensure alignment between recruitment efforts, family engagement strategies, and enrollment goals.
Administrative And Professional Responsibilities
Participate in regular check‑ins with the Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager to review progress toward recruitment goals and receive coaching and feedback.
Maintain accurate documentation of recruitment activities, partnerships, and application progress.
Participate in regional meetings, training opportunities, and professional development sessions related to recruitment and community engagement.
Support additional recruitment initiatives and projects as needed to ensure the region meets enrollment goals.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of relevant experience in recruitment, outreach, community engagement, education, or nonprofit work.
Experience with student recruitment, enrollment, or community outreach preferred.
Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with diverse communities.
Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
Self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively with a team.
Demonstrates a “whatever it takes” attitude to meet recruitment and enrollment goals.
Service‑oriented and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
Commitment to the KIPP Columbus mission and community.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn systems such as SchoolMint and CRM platforms.
Reliable transportation to travel between campuses and community events.
Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for recruitment activities.
