
Residence Life Coordinator

Job Summary
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) supports the Residential Life program in the Housing and Residence Life department at Augusta University. The RLC creates a community that encourages learning and interaction, and leads daily operations to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
Communicate student rights and responsibilities; assist students with interpersonal conflicts; serve as a student conduct hearing officer; coordinate community service or engagement activities; foster an inclusive environment and mentor student staff and residents.
Supervise a hall or complex staff of Resident Assistants; oversee front‑desk operations; recruit and select staff; provide leadership and adhere to residence hall and university policies; deliver training and performance evaluations; enforce progressive discipline; maintain staff development.
Administer hall programming, supplies, and training budget; coordinate facilities maintenance and capital improvement requests; manage communication between hall and Housing & Residence Life office; facilitate safety training; handle budget and spreadsheet management; oversee check‑ins, check‑outs, and moves; process work orders and related forms; prepare and submit annual reports.
Provide leadership, mentoring, and role modelling for student staff and hall residents; seek professional growth; represent Housing & Residence Life at seminars and conferences; present workshops and seminars; maintain awareness of student and staff concerns through office hours and other interactions; adhere to Residence Life policies and procedures.
Execute additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with two years of applicable related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a directly related field; experience with community living and leadership development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Planning and organizing student events.
Supervisory practices and techniques.
Familiarity with student management systems.
Student conduct, crisis response, and behavioral intervention.
Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Initiative and organizational leadership vision.
Student development and community building strategies.
Problem analysis and sound decision making.
Collaboration and collegial relationships with Housing & Residence Life staff and other constituencies.
Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift: Days, Monday‑Friday; outside standard business hours may be required. Pay Band: B8. Salary: $45,400 annually, commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Benefits may include health, dental, and life insurance; Teachers Retirement System (or Optional Retirement Plan); vacation, sick leave, and 13 paid holidays. Full‑time employees may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program after six months of employment.
Conditions of Employment All selected candidates must pass a background check before starting. Where applicable, a credit check for Positions of Trust and/or a department purchase‑card approval is required. Motor‑vehicle reports are required if driving a university vehicle. Faculty hires must provide proof of completed degree(s) and post‑secondary coursework transcripts; foreign‑trained candidates must provide credential evaluation.
