Job Summary
Reports to the FIU in DC Director of the Briefing Center and collaboratively reports to the Division of Information Technology, Media Technology Services for coordination of daily support and maintenance of all AV systems. This position will assist the departments in the capture of content, delivery of digital communications products and technical expertise for all events at FIU in Washington, DC. Coordinates the maintenance of FIU in Washington, DC owned media, tech, AV, and computer equipment for the office including local and network printers; desktop computer; departmental laptops; all media lab equipment; AV equipment and their supported software. Coordinates the repairs of equipment and provides some technical support to faculty, staff, students, and visitors using the office. Responsibilities
Supports the digital communications team in the execution of video capture and editing, podcasting, social media and graphic design. Oversees design and content creation on behalf of the department as it pertains to the operation and digital signage program for the University using appropriate Content Management System. Creates graphic and/or interactive training resources and related documentation, as dictated by project design, with knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects, and Adobe Illustrator. Assists with supporting all proprietary applications used within the department, such as Zoom, Social Tables, FourWinds, Cyber Cafe, Venus Content Manager, Pharos Print Management system, Door Access, SSRS, When I Work, 7 Point OPS, Qualtrics and similar platforms, etc. Provides support for delivery of academic and instructional content as needed. Provides after-hours support for events and systems maintenance. Provides technical leadership at special FIU events making use of software such as EMS, Meeting Matrix, Social Tables for the planning of all functions. Coordinates with colleagues the programming of audio visual systems using Creston software as well as music that is played throughout the entire building. Manages projects that require knowledge of Qualtrics and Adobe Suite software. Manages lighting design and programming for all intelligent lighting systems to include special themes for event functions. Manages programming of audio visual systems using Crestronsoftware as well as music that is played throughout the entire facility. Serves as the backup to ensure maximum uptime with all hardware, such as, LCD screens, Electronic Message Boards (EMBs) door access system, phone charging stations, and other digital assets. Assists with server administration of systems within FIU in DC's data center. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Crestron based audio, visual systems, lighting systems, common areas, multipurpose room, classroom, executive board room, pantry areas and offices. Responsible for the management of core systems/processes such as Social Tables, Video Surveillance, Reclaim Hub, departmental website, two-radio system, and other digital assets. Coordinates with DoIT for timely and accurate maintenance schedule for AV systems. Manages access schedule to venues and is responsible for oversight of building audio visual hardware and software as well as inventories. Manages vendor quotations, deliverables, installations and repairs of all audio visual systems. Provides leadership with managing daily job assignments of student intern employees. Develops and managed processes for use of technology, and provides support to users in the use of system and technology equipment throughout the FIU in Washington, DC office via in person, zoom, documentation, and other educational methods. Develops concepts for capture of content, including, but not limited to story boards, scripts and site selection within the Washington, D.C. area. Assist the department by aiding users having computer or networking problems via phone, email, or in-person Manage, audit, and monitor media, AV, tech & IT equipment, and assets to ensure accurate inventory records Maintains, installs, upgrades, repairs, and troubleshoots problems with office desktop computers, including software/hardware, email, and peripheral equipment in accordance with area standard practices. Assists with management of audiovisual equipment, video conferencing, setup of complex microphone/speaker equipment, streaming equipment, setup/breakdown for special events and Polycom troubleshooting. Works with outside vendors to identify equipment needs, provides recommendations, obtains estimates, and recommends services or installation. Provides support of digital signage equipment, troubleshooting and related maintenance. Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field and four (4) years of related experience; OR eight (8) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. Experience supervising employees and managing production schedules and budgets. Desired Qualifications
Proficient skills within the area of events and video conferencing and presentation systems. Knowledge of audio, visual and design content management systems such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Illustruator, Qualtrics, EMS, etc. Proficient skills and experience configuring and maintaining computer hardware, components, operating systems and peripherals. Experience in content capture, video production, photography and intricate audio visual equipment for a showcase facility. Advertised Salary
