Position Overview The Senior Designer is responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, developing innovative design solutions, and leading the execution of interior design concepts. The ideal candidate is a creative, energetic, and highly organized professional with 7–10 years of post-graduate experience in residential high‑end interior design and project management.

Key Responsibilities

Manage multiple residential design projects from conception to completion, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Provide project team leadership and be a resource to the design team.

Source new products, vendors, and design inspiration to elevate the firm’s portfolio and challenge the design team creatively.

Develop detailed design concepts, including programming, space planning, and interior layouts.

Integrate interior design concepts with architectural plans, demonstrating a strong understanding of the architectural process.

Perform field measurements and verifications alongside the Design Assistant/Junior Designer.

Develop space plans and schematic designs using Archicad/AutoCAD and/or SketchUp in collaboration with other design team members.

Prepare floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, millwork designs, and furniture layouts.

Create comprehensive construction documents and specifications for contractors, workrooms, and vendors.

Manage the construction process, coordinating with contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects stay on schedule.

Coordinate and oversee installations and deliveries, ensuring design intent is realized. Oversee project administration tasks performed by other design team members, including reviewing proposals and purchase orders.

Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Strong understanding of building construction, materials, and techniques.

Exceptional organization, time management, and problem‑solving skills.

Detail‑oriented, team‑focused, self‑motivated, and able to work independently when needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA‑accredited program.

7–10 years of post‑graduate residential interior design and project management experience.

Proficiency in Archicad and/or AutoCAD and SketchUp required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; experience with accounting/project management software is a plus.
