Department Information The ADC ensures court‑appointed legal representation to individuals who cannot afford an attorney in criminal and juvenile cases when the Office of the State Public Defender has a conflict of interest. The ADC employs more than 40 full‑time staff and works with approximately 1,300 contractors statewide to ensure constitutionally mandated representation. The agency operates within legislative, budgetary, and policy constraints to provide holistic representation across the state.

Description of Job The Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel (ADC) seeks an Executive & Training Specialist to support a mission‑driven statewide agency. This position supports executive leadership and coordinates trainings for legal teams who provide court‑appointed defense representation across Colorado.

Role Summary You are highly organized and detail‑oriented and can manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines, while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. You are comfortable supporting leadership, coordinating events, and organizing information so leadership can make decisions efficiently. You are comfortable using technology to communicate information, manage documents, and support virtual meetings or trainings. You work well independently and with supervision, exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information. You communicate clearly, collaborate well with others, and take pride in ensuring work is accurate, organized, and well executed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 4–6 years of relevant professional experience supporting leadership, coordinating programs or trainings, or managing complex administrative work;

or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating strong organizational and coordination skills.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Comfort using technology to organize information, support virtual meetings, and manage digital materials.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Zoom or similar virtual meeting platforms.

Strong written communication and editing skills.

Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Experience coordinating meetings, schedules, events, or trainings.

Experience coordinating complex workflows independently.
