Starting salary based upon skills and experience: $176,600 - $220,800 plus robust benefits package
Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute the software engineering strategy, driving adoption of modern development practices, including microservices, cloud-native architectures, API-first design, and AI-driven automation. Establish engineering excellence by implementing best practices in CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing, and observability.
Product & Platform Development
- Lead the development of scalable, resilient, and secure applications that drive platform modernization to cloud-native and API-driven architectures that enhance member experiences and drive operational efficiency through seamless system integration and interoperability between applications, data platforms, and third-party services.
Technology & Innovation
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies (AI/ML, serverless, edge computing) and champion data-driven decision making to build developer-friendly platforms that enhance productivity, security, and performance.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing software engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience
12 years of experience in one or more major information processing functions (operations, development, etc.), with 5 years of experience managing application functions
Experience with RPA, API, and other data integration tools
Experience with modern software development and code repository tools, such as GitHub
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure), modern programming languages and frameworks (.NET, Python, etc.) and DevOps practices
Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and data-driven software engineering approaches
Proven track record of building and scaling software engineering teams in product-driven organizations
Strong leadership and communication, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization and external parties
Works well under pressure, adaptable to change, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete timely
This position may work remotely but will be required to report to our office in Madison, WI when needed. Hardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.
