Director, Human Resources – Commercial Real Estate serves as a strategic HR business partner to senior leadership across SitusAMC’s Commercial Real Estate platform. This role is responsible for aligning people strategies with business objectives in a complex, client-driven environment spanning asset management, lending, servicing, and advisory functions.

This position provides leadership across all core HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, organizational development, and regulatory compliance. The Director anticipates workforce needs, proactively identifies solutions, and partners with executive stakeholders to drive a high-performance, inclusive, and engaged culture.

This role has direct reports and is expected to lead, mentor, and develop an HR team supporting a geographically dispersed workforce.

Essential Job Functions

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leadership within the Commercial Real Estate business, aligning HR strategies with business goals and market dynamics

Lead and oversee all aspects of HR for assigned business units, including employee relations, talent retention, and organizational effectiveness

Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning within a commercial real estate services environment

Partner with leadership to develop and implement talent strategies that support growth across lending, servicing, asset management, and advisory functions, including managing a complex seconded population in partnership with Client HR teams

Drive performance management processes, ensuring accountability, leadership effectiveness, and employee development across teams

Identify opportunities to simplify and enhance the HRBP service model leveraging enterprise AI tools and solutions

Coach and advise leaders on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and risk mitigation

Analyze workforce trends, turnover data, and engagement metrics to develop actionable insights, programs, and policies

Lead the design and execution of retention, engagement, and culture initiatives tailored to a high-performing, client-centric organization

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as industry-specific regulatory considerations impacting commercial real estate operations

Participate in policy development and administration, ensuring alignment with company standards and evolving regulatory requirements

Collaborate with the HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated HR solutions to the business, partnering with Total Rewards and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure competitive compensation, benefits, and hiring strategies aligned with market conditions, Talent Management and Training teams to deliver development solutions, etc.

Guide and support annual performance review and compensation planning processes

Oversee leave of absence programs (including FMLA) and ensure proper administration and documentation

Synthesize exit interviews to inform leadership on trends and retention risks

Evaluate and enhance training and development programs to support leadership capability and technical expertise within CRE functions

Partner with Compliance on all audits, e.g., FLSA and job classification, etc.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support evolving business needs

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred

Minimum of 15+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant experience supporting complex, matrixed organizations in a commercial real estate environment

Demonstrated success operating at a senior HR leadership level (Director/SVP or equivalent)

10+ years of broad HR generalist experience across all core functions (employee relations, talent management, compensation, compliance, etc.)

Professional HR certification preferred (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent)

Core Competencies

Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategy to commercial real estate operations and financial performance

Deep knowledge of employment law, regulatory requirements, and HR best practices

Proven ability to influence and partner with senior leadership in a fast-paced, client-focused environment

Exceptional coaching and conflict resolution skills, with experience managing complex employee relations issues

Strategic thinker with the ability to translate data and trends into actionable HR initiatives

Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing and developing HR teams

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

Special Requirements

Ability to travel occasionally to support business units and offices as needed

Flexibility to work across multiple time zones in a distributed organization

Working Conditions

Frequent communication via phone, video, and in-person meetings

Benefits and Compensation The annual base salary range for this role is $170,000.00 – $230,000.00. Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, and all full-time employees are eligible to participate in benefit plans, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401(k), in accordance with plan terms.
