Description
As a Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Managing Director, you will serve as the financial lead for medium to large, complex employer client assignments. You’ll leverage your experience as a benefits financial/actuarial expert to make strategic recommendations on funding, plan design and innovative financial solutions. You will apply your financial management and data analytics expertise to solve complex client problems and to lead the development of new Health & Benefits (H&B) intellectual capital.
The Role
Delivers complex financial/actuarial/analytic (FAA) concepts, strategies and results that effectively drive client action and improve plan performance, in collaboration with client service team (CST)
Leads new business, expansion and cross‑selling activities for actuarial, financial and/or risk solutions
Lead clients’ financial/actuarial engagements for a large portfolio of highly complex clients
Provides leadership to teams in creating client financial and risk strategies by leveraging emerging trends, WTW intellectual capital and market innovations
Provides final quality reviews and client delivery for complex financial/actuarial deliverables
Guides team (client, regional and global delivery centers [GDCs]) on deliverables based on client need
Develops and maintains relationships with employers’ and vendors’ senior executive contacts to drive growth and enhance Health & Benefits (H&B)’s brand
Expertly links clients’ benefits, financial and placement strategies to deliver optimal results
Participates in H&B brand building through public speaking, membership/leadership role in key business organizations to promote H&B and WTW growth
Maintains optimism when faced with significant challenges; deals well with and learns from setbacks, helping others to remain positive
Qualifications
15+ years’ experience and demonstrated success in delivering complex health and welfare financial/actuarial strategies and analysis in a consulting or brokerage environment
Recognized as an external thought leader
Deep understanding of the FAA service catalog and expert knowledge in all aspects of benefit plan design, underwriting/funding, analytics and post‑retirement/employment concepts design, underwriting and funding concepts
Proven ability to lead data analytic projects
Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health and welfare plan strategy and leading the development of new intellectual capital
Ability to leverage judgement and past experiences to predict which methods will work
Multiple years of experience across one or multiple client segments
Executive presence with polished and well-developed written and oral communication skills
Superior ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization
Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
Actuarial designation and current continuing education (optional)
Compensation and Benefits Base salary range: $200,000.00 – $245,000.00 USD annually. This role is also eligible for an annual short‑term incentive bonus.
