
Customs Brokerage Specialist

Job Overview
Provide customers with the highest quality service by ensuring consistent customer service and resolution, facilitating the timely release and movement of freight/cargo. Responsibilities
Provide impeccable customer service Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to U.S. Customs, agents, and clients, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems that could delay freight release or movement Maintain relationships with brokers, T&B, and other service providers to exceed customer service requirements Resolve banking and letter of credit issues Advise customers on payment terms Collect payment on delinquent accounts and/or complete accounting adjustment forms for review Resolve billing issues and coordinate post‑entry activity on behalf of customers Complete accurate data input or corrections into computer files Perform root‑cause analysis as directed by the Account Administrator Coordinate post‑entry activities on the customer's behalf Manage the entry verification process Access clients’ external systems as necessary Correspond with business partners via written, phone, or e‑mail communication Produce operational trend reports Keep partners apprised of the exception process Respond to pre‑alerts according to customer SOP Maintain general knowledge of FedEx products and services Interact with customers, internal staff, departments, and management at all levels Support Account Administrators with exception logs and special spreadsheets Perform entry reconciliation as needed Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer front‑line personnel Facilitate entry processing and pre‑arrival and post‑arrival exception resolution Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 12 months of brokerage or transportation experience, and/or customer service experience Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Problem‑solving abilities Capacity to handle high volume and time‑sensitive work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Attention to detail Knowledge of HTS classification and familiarity with the harmonized tariff system Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal regulations relevant to customs Paid training provided Preferred Qualifications
Customs brokerage experience Residence within 50 miles of Elk Grove Village, Illinois Compensation and Benefits
Pay range: $15.50 – $25.20 per hour Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (Hybrid) Paid training provided FedEx Logistics is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities.
