Position Summary HaloMD is seeking an experienced and strategic
Director of Informal NSA Operations
to lead and scale our Payor Response teams. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence across informal NSA workflows, leveraging advanced analytics to improve performance, and partnering cross-functionally to optimize arbitration outcomes. The ideal candidate brings deep hands‑on experience with the No Surprises Act, a strong analytical mindset, and a proven ability to lead high‑performing teams in fast‑paced, data‑driven environments. As a key leader within the organization, this individual will translate complex operational and claims data into actionable insights, guide continuous process improvement, and provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
This is a high‑impact role for a collaborative, results‑oriented leader who thrives at the intersection of operations, analytics, and strategy and who is excited to help shape the future of HaloMD's informal NSA operations.
Primary Responsibilities Operational Leadership
Manage and develop the Payor Response operations teams, including direct coaching of supervisors and leads. Establish a regular cadence of performance evaluations, mentorship, and operational reviews.
Strategic Analytics
Oversee advanced data analysis to identify trends, performance gaps, and revenue opportunities. Partner with Data Reporting to design and deploy automated dashboards (Power BI) that translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Process Optimization
Drive the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to automate workflows and enhance performance tracking mechanisms.
Cross‑Functional Strategy
Partner with Business Intelligence, NSA Formal, State, Shared Services to define KPIs, refine analytical frameworks, and optimize arbitration strategies.
Executive Support
Provide analytical insights and operational recommendations to senior leadership to drive strategic decision‑making and support high‑level initiatives.
Qualifications Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree required.
10+ years of relevant work experience is required; 2+ years of management consulting experience is highly preferred.
NSA Specialization: Direct experience with the No Surprises Act (NSA), including federal or state arbitration processes, is required.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of leading large, cross‑functional teams and managing operations at scale. Experience navigating ambiguity and driving change in dynamic, fast‑paced environments is essential.
People Development: Demonstrated ability to develop junior team members and coach mid‑level managers (Supervisors/Team Leads).
Executive Communication: Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex operational issues into clear strategic recommendations for leadership.
Technical & Analytical Skills
Data Proficiency: Strong mastery of Excel and experience working with large healthcare claims datasets is required.
Technical Stack: Experience with SQL (or similar query tools) and data visualization platforms (Power BI) is strongly preferred.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to apply data modeling to solve complex operational problems and measure business outcomes.
