
Contract Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review, revise and negotiate various contracts with owners and vendors. Organize contract files including but not limited to review copies, internal discussion notes, negotiation correspondence and final execution contract documents. Conduct contract reviews and provide mark-ups and recommendations regarding important legal and risk management issues for negotiation. Develop contract proposals to support organizational goals. Ensure that all records are accurate and up to date. Write contract letters and other communications and notices. Participate in meetings with project teams and executives to review and assess various contractual risks Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with state and federal laws and regulations. Work collaboratively with various stakeholders including project managers, risk management professionals and senior executives.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Five plus year of experience in creating new construction contract and contract administration, contract management. Legal experience and/or knowledge of contract law a plus. Knowledge of construction operations and management a plus. Strong negotiation and mediation skills. Superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work productively independently and as part of a team. Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced and demanding environment. General understanding of accounting principles and finance.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience needs to be new build construction contracts. Negotiating construction contracts. Redlining construction contracts. Legal experience and/or knowledge of contract law.
NICE TO HAVE:
A Paralegal/Law degree.
