Underwriter A&E

We are currently recruiting for an Underwriter A&E (professional risk + real estate developers & contractors) in Chicago, IL (Downtown). This role is hybrid in-office 2 days and 3 days remote. The Underwriter will place good risks, create a pipeline of business and bring expertise for wholesale brokers throughout the Midwest region. Responsibilities:
Utilizing technical, sales and analytical skills to underwrite, price and negotiate accounts consistent with the quality of the risk and according to the strategies and guidelines for the Architects & Engineers product line
Develop and maintain relationships with wholesale brokers providing excellent service in Midwest region
Work with multiple teams in operations, claims, finance and marketing to help build or enhance products
Contribute to the financial performance of the business unit exceeding quote output numbers consistently
Identify creative solutions for partners
Engage with National A&E team for learning and teaching opportunities
Create new business production on small, mid-market and national sized risks
Up to 25% travel for broker visits and industry events (Mid-West & West Coast)
Requirements:
2+ years underwriting experience in professional risk: E&O, A&E, contractors, real estate developers
Strong relationships with wholesale brokers in the Midwest Region preferred
Must have strong written and verbal skills
No sponsorship. Local candidates only. Must be in a commutable range to downtown Chicago, IL for hybrid in-office 2 days. 105K – 120K Base + Bonus + Benefits Package
