The Hang Loose Hut is an Orange County-based college apparel brand creating custom merchandise for sororities and fraternities across the country.
About the role: The Social Media Manager owns the strategy, execution, and performance of The Hang Loose Hut’s social channels, bringing the brand to life in a way that feels authentic, engaging, and culturally relevant to college students.
This role is responsible for creating content, executing trends, managing collaborations, and engaging with our audience. They will translate product drops, campus moments, and brand initiatives into content that drives attention, builds community, and generates demand.
This role is about making The Hang Loose Hut the most relevant and talked-about brand in the college space.
Responsibilities: Content & Social Growth
Own Instagram & TikTok strategy and execution with support across emerging platforms, ensuring all create output is brand aligned
Create, shoot, and edit short-form content that is trend-driven and native to platform
Translate products, drops, and brand moments into content that is culturally relevant and shareable
Build and maintain a content calendar aligned with campaigns, launches, and key moments
Influencer & Partnership Initiatives
Identify and collaborate with influencers who align with our brand and target audience
Track performance and use insights to continuously improve content and strategy
Turn influencer relationships into content, social proof, and brand awareness
Campus Marketing Support
Build relationships with campus organizations and communities that drive content, visibility, and demand
Support brand presence across college campuses through digital and in-person initiatives
Collaborate with internal teams on campaigns tied to key campus moments and events
Community & Brand Presence
Engage with our audience through comments, messages, and trends
Connect with customers at HLH events, bringing customers into the brand world
Stay ahead of what’s happening in Gen Z and college culture
Contribute ideas that keep the brand fresh, relevant, and culturally in-tune
What We’re Looking For
Strong Instagram and TikTok native creator with a deep understanding of platform strategy
A big-picture thinker who can translate the company’s vision into clear social and creative strategies and execute them consistently across channels
Comfortable both on camera and behind it, with a strong point of view on storytelling
Requirements
2+ years managing social media for a fashion, lifestyle, or youth-focused brand
Strong understanding of TikTok & Instagram trends and content creation
Experience shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, native tools, etc.)
Experience working with influencers or partnerships is a plus
