Responsibilities The Program Director is responsible for the administration of a treatment program, ensuring that all program operations, procedures, clinical services, and staff practices comply with established hospital policies, federal laws, state licensing requirements, and Joint Commission standards. The Program Director has overall supervisory responsibility for the nursing staff, Program Assistant, Nursing Coordinator, and Office Professionals assigned to the Program. The Program Director must possess effective communication skills, good organizational skills, collaborate with a variety of disciplines and departments throughout the hospital, plan and coordinate a mental health treatment program, and analyze complex problems to take appropriate action. Knowledge of the Department’s Equal Employment Opportunity objectives and effective supervision and personnel management techniques is required.
