The CBS owned and operated duopoly in West Sacramento has an immediate opening for a freelance news photographer/editor to work on CBS 13 and our independent 31.
Responsibilities
Provide visual texture reinforcing talent’s story‑telling.
Operate XDCAM EX camera and Grass Valley EDIUS editing systems.
Operate live trucks, bonded‑cellular packs, microwave and satellite trucks.
Travel at a moment’s notice, work any shift, and be available for occasional travel.
Apply creative storytelling skills in a fast‑paced broadcast environment.
Qualifications
More than three years of television news experience covering breaking news, features, and sports.
Sound journalistic judgment and a passion for visual storytelling.
Excellent lighting skills and the ability to work deadline‑oriented.
Experience operating microwave, bonded‑cellular packs, and/or satellite trucks.
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work any shift and occasional travel.
