Recreation Leader
As a Recreation Leader, you'll collaborate to plan and implement age-appropriate weekly arts and crafts, games, and activities for children ages 5 to 13. Scheduled work hours will be at various park locations. Leaders will assist co-leaders in creating themed events to engage participants. Staff will ensure a safe environment for participants at all times and will also attend and participate in staff trainings and meetings. Position dates for all programs are June 15

Must be 16 years of age or older. A background or interest in local government work serving the community. Programs that Recreation Leaders will be involved with include: Camp Explore: Camp Explore is an all-day structured summer camp program for children between the ages of 6 and 9. This program takes place from 9:00am to 4:00pm, Monday
Thursday. Dates of program: June 15
August 13. Playground Pros: Playground Pros is an all-day structured summer camp program for children between the ages of 9 and 12. Activities will be geared to older aged children. This program takes place from 9:00am-4:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Dates of program: June 15
August 13. Tykes: Tykes is a morning only summer camp program for children between the ages of 4 and 5. Activities will be geared to preschool aged children. This program takes place from 9:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Thursday. Dates of program: June 15
August 13. Pop-Up Park: Recreation Leaders will be bringing games/activities to various neighborhood and community parks throughout Burnsville. This program takes place on select Friday mornings throughout the summer from 10:00am
Noon. Additional Program Opportunities: Recreation Leaders will also have the opportunity to help out at various city-wide special events and youth specialty camps throughout the summer.
