Job Description Summary Join us as a Human Factors & UX/UI Engineer and help shape the future of medical technology. Your work will directly impact patient safety and clinician efficiency by creating intuitive, user-centered interfaces for life‑saving devices. In this role, you’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including other human factors engineers, hardware engineers, and software developers—to design solutions that improve usability, reduce risk, and meet rigorous regulatory standards. You’ll also lead user research efforts to ensure our products truly meet the needs of those who rely on them.

Responsibilities
Design- Create and prototype user interfaces for embedded devices, mobile apps, and desktop applications.
- Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Apply UX best practices to ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and ease of use.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and consistency.
- Deliver creative solutions for complex usability challenges across physical and digital devices.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and heuristic evaluations to inform design decisions.
- Engage with clinicians and device users to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with human factors engineers to integrate user needs and risk mitigation strategies.
- Develop user workflows and task analyses.
- Maintain design documentation and UI style guides.
- Support creation of Human Factors & Usability Engineering documentation.
- Optimize existing applications for improved usability and performance.
Qualifications
Education & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in Human‑Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Product Design or related field.
- ~2+ years of experience in UI/UX or interaction design, preferably in the medical device or healthcare industry.
- Proven experience in UI/UX design with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.).
- Knowledge of accessibility standards.
- Excellent communication, writing, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
- Familiarity with medical device usability standards and regulatory guidelines:
- FDA Guidance
- IEC 62366
- HE75
- ISO 14971
- Experience with human factors engineering principles.
- Understanding of industrial design principles and ergonomics.
- Background in designing UX/UI for embedded systems or touchscreen interfaces.
- Experience conducting Formative and/or Summative Usability studies.
- Industrial design experience.
- CAD proficiency.
- Statistical analysis skills.
Salary Range Information
80,600.00 $ – 133,000.00 $ USD Annual
