Role Overview
We are seeking a
Windows L3 Engineer
with strong hands-on experience in
Windows Server, VMware, and server/data migrations
to support acquisition and integration initiatives. This role will take technical ownership of OS and data migration activities across diverse and sometimes non-standard environments.
The ideal candidate is a
self-starter
who can operate in loosely documented environments, collaborate across multiple teams, and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute
OS and data/storage migration activities , primarily in
Windows Server and VMware environments Perform
Windows Server migrations
(including legacy and non-standard OS versions) to standardized platforms such as
Windows Server 2022 Support
data and storage migrations , including: Use of tools such as
RoboCopy, StorageX , and similar Movement of data across legacy, multi-vendor storage platforms Support migration of
non-standard server OSs
(e.g., Win10 servers, Ubuntu, freeware *NIX versions) to approved enterprise standards Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, storage, networking, and application teams Provide
out-of-hours or weekend support
when required based on migration schedules Travel to client sites as needed to support migration or integration activities Take ownership in acquisition/integration scenarios and provide whatever support is necessary to achieve project goals, even when scope is loosely defined Operate effectively with
limited or no existing documentation , making sound technical decisions independently Must-Have Skills
Windows Server (L3 level) VMware
(VM provisioning, migration, troubleshooting) Server Migration experience Data / Storage Migration Strong hands-on experience with enterprise Windows environments Nice-to-Have Skills
RedHat Linux knowledge
(highly advantageous) Exposure to heterogeneous or legacy infrastructure environments Experience supporting M&A or integration projects
