Responsibilities
Evaluate and underwrite contract surety risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess risk and determine appropriate terms and conditions.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, and clients to support business growth and retention.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and adherence to underwriting policies.
Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Contribute to the achievement of departmental and organizational goals through effective risk management and decision-making.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in contract surety underwriting.
Strong knowledge of financial analysis, credit evaluation, and risk assessment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
Proven ability to work independently and make sound underwriting decisions.
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in underwriting and financial analysis.
