Position Description:
SEI's Legal team advises SEI Luxembourg on corporate governance and regulatory matters and assists with its contractual arrangements. SEI is expanding its Legal team to create an opening for its first lawyer based in Luxembourg. The successful candidate will report to the Group General Counsel and collaborate closely with members of the Luxembourg Compliance team and the Legal team in Dublin and the United States.
What you'll do:
Lead legal advice to the authorised management of SEI Luxembourg on local corporate governance requirements and regulatory matters
Draft and negotiate various Luxembourg client service agreements, including administration and depositary agreements, with clients/their counsel and support the business unit with review of legal documentation relating to new client fund launches
Support Fund Accounting, Transfer Agency, Financial Reporting, Depositary and Domiciliation operations teams on legal issues relating to onboarding new client mandates and servicing existing mandates
Assist the Luxembourg Compliance team with effective and timely implementation of regulatory changes
Lead drafting, implementing and maintaining local legal templates and procedures, having regard to group standards
Supervise the Company Secretary
Work with team leaders across Legal and Compliance to ensure alignment and consistency in the advice provided to SEI Luxembourg's growing business
Contribute to global Legal and Compliance projects and initiatives
Required Experiences and Skills:
Qualified avocat/lawyer in an EU jurisdiction
At least 10 years' experience working as an investment funds or financial services solicitor in a law firm and/or an in-house legal department, of which at least 3 recent years have been in Luxembourg
Experience with drafting and review of service contracts, ideally Fund Service Provider agreements for Luxembourg investment funds
Strong knowledge of the laws, regulations and CSSF guidance in Luxembourg impacting Fund Administrators and Depositaries
Charismatic, pragmatic and respectful leadership
Strong writing and communication skills
A curious mindset and ability to execute change
