Description Ideal candidate: is flexible, sports-oriented, and possesses strong math skills. Must be available to work nights and weekends. Previous experience is preferred but not required. The right individual will be dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Shift Type: Varied ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Depending on experience, the essential duties, responsibilities, points of Service and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Sportsbook Ticket Writer training process. Reports to the Sportsbook Supervisor and Director Provide excellent Guest Service that will encourage Guest Loyalty By providing a high level of Guest Service to both regulars and "novice bettors", you will ensure everyone is made to feel welcome at our Brook Sportsbook Advise and answer Guest questions to assist them in making an informed, responsible decision with their sports wagering Adhere to all Departmental SOPs, Company Policies and Gaming Regulations the rules and regulations set forth by the company and gaming control board Learn and gain a commensurate knowledge of our betting options to communicate to our Guests Ability to be able to strike up conversations with Guests regarding those options Work to resolve Guest concerns or complaints and report them to your Supervisor when applicable Work collaboratively with other team members and your leadership team Ensure that all necessary paperwork/documentation is filled out accordingly to company policy and gaming control board standards All other duties as assigned The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality The ability to read and understand written instructions Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment utilized by the Sportsbook Dept Able to work in a fast-paced environment and at times be under strict time constraints EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. • A minimum of 1 year of cash handling experience in a work setting is preferred. AGE AND GAMING : • 21 years of age or above • Ability to obtain a New Hampshire Gaming License required LANGUAGE SKILLS : • Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language required. • Ability to read and understand documents and diagrams in written English form is required. • Ability to respond to inquiries, complaints and emergencies. • Ability to speak bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : • General math skills with the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITY : • Ability to apply commonsense judgment at all times through the course of completing your duties and tasks as assigned and when interacting with Guests or employees. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to inspect, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and lift and carry, push, pull or move items up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The work environment requires work in varying levels of crowds, noise and smoke, the severity of which depends upon customer volume. The work environment requires working indoors in a climate-controlled environment. The noise level in the work environment ranges from low to loud.
