Description of Job The Colorado SecureSavings Program (CSSP) was created to address the retirement savings gap in Colorado. Research shows that over 50% of Colorado workers lack access to a workplace savings plan and the access gap will cost the State an estimated $18 billion over the next 15 years. CSSP will administer a state‑facilitated retirement program for private sector employers who do not offer a retirement option to their employees. Additionally, the work unit will manage and administer a multi‑state consortia of similarly situated programs across the country through the Partnership for a Dignified Retirement (PDR).

Duties This position supports the Program design, implementation, and ongoing administration through outreach and marketing, stakeholder engagement, and saver support and education. This role is tasked with leading outreach and engagement efforts, developing and implementing the marketing strategy, and ensuring participant satisfaction as employers and their employees invest in the Program. Specific duties include:

Marketing & Outreach

Implementing, adapting, and the ongoing execution of the Program’s marketing and outreach strategy, which includes traditional marketing, as well as community outreach elements requiring direct relationships with local stakeholders.

Identifying target audience for Program marketing and outreach and segmenting audience.

Identifying the appropriate strategies and channels for disseminating Program marketing and outreach materials to relevant external stakeholders such as employer groups, employee representatives, economic development partners, and technical assistance providers.

Supporting planning and design of marketing, communication, advertising, and outreach materials that inform internal and external stakeholders.

Regularly giving presentations at events, webinars, trade shows, and other relevant outreach opportunities.

Content Development The position will support marketing and outreach functions by identifying new opportunities to create resources and/or update existing materials. Functions in this area include:

Identifying, supporting development, and implementing new content needs for external parties including, but not limited to, web content, written materials, presentation slides, and audio/visual content.

Coordinating with internal staff and third‑party vendors to identify the appropriate party for creating new or updating existing Program content.

Relationship Management

Maintains high levels of engagement and touch points with community partners, trade associations, chambers of commerce, employee representatives, and others that may be impacted by the Program requirements.

Develops individualized strategies for beginning and maintaining engagement with external partners to ensure CSSP reach continues statewide, and in hard‑to‑reach communities and populations.

Receives, evaluates, and escalates external partner feedback regarding information needs, as well as core Program functions.

Coordinates with senior CSSP staff to gather background and necessary Program knowledge on external partners to successfully pursue relationship‑building opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications Six (6) years of professional experience in communication, community engagement, field organization, marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, sales, or a related occupational field. This experience must be clearly demonstrated in your application to be considered for employment.

OR

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in public relations, communications, liberal arts, public administration, marketing, advertising, journalism, political science, business, international relations or a closely related field.

AND two (2) years of professional experience that includes one or more of the following: communication, community engagement, field organization, marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, sales, or a related occupational field.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in communication, community engagement, public administration, marketing, advertising, journalism, public relations, political science, business, international relations or a closely related field of study will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with social media campaigns and/or outreach

Experience giving presentations to diverse audiences

Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify solutions to potential problems

Experience creating fact sheets, scripts, and other condensed information to share with internal and external stakeholders

Experience in writing complex content and effectively relaying information to the various stakeholders

Experience using Salesforce or similar customer relationship management software system

Bilingual in Spanish

Creating consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns
