
VP - Donor Relations

Job Summary
This position is vital to the cultivation and stewardship of donors. The ideal candidate regularly coordinates and communicates with gift officers to build loyal, trusting donor relationships. The person in this role is responsible for developing, managing, and integrating programs and services that engage donors through creative ways to recognize and celebrate their philanthropic support. The person in this position implements and monitors the effectiveness of strategies and tactics designed to drive greater donor loyalty and value. Additionally, this person may provide personalized physician referrals and assist in securing medical appointments. They may build and maintain a supportive network of physicians who value the impact of philanthropy. This position will include working various shifts, and weekends.
Essential Functions
Responsible for developing, managing, and executing best-in-class donor stewardship programs. Leads donor relations strategy activity and programs. Works closely with gift officers in identification, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship of donors. Builds greater donor loyalty by conducting personal and group gatherings. Develops and implements effective donor recognition programs. Acts as liaison with healthcare physicians and staff on behalf of donors. Collaborates with Foundation staff and volunteers in identification and cultivation donor activities. Seeks out and maintains partnerships with stakeholders to develop and strengthen philanthropic relationships.
Advises and partners on providing approaches, resources, and activities to expand and enhance the donor experience. Builds new avenues of donor engagement. Works collaboratively with Foundation staff to focus on achieving the primary objectives of providing an outstanding donor experience and proactively planning thoughtful, personalized relationship-based engagement plans and/or activities. Operates within the existing policies and procedures of the hospitals, including HIPAA regulations. Builds a supportive network of physicians and clinicians who value the impact of philanthropy. Ensures a timely response to inquiries and requests from donors.
Works across the Foundation and healthcare system to regularly share information and insights arising from concierge-like donor identification, qualification, cultivation, and stewardship work to further philanthropic strategies. Participates in an active tour program for current and prospective donors.
Develops and maintains records from which personalized experiences can be curated, tracked, and evaluated for effectiveness.
Education
Master's Degree - Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience - Required
Experience
2 years in a patient and family advocacy role - Required
3 years leadership experience in a medical/hospital setting - Required
5 years management experience in a medical/hospital setting - Preferred
