About The Role We are partnering with a leading enterprise retailer with a strong focus on digital transformation and internal innovation to hire a User Experience (UX) Designer. This role supports the design of internal tools that enable teams to efficiently move products from concept to shelf. The organization operates at large scale, balancing complex workflows, enterprise systems, and user needs across multiple business functions.
This is a hybrid position requiring local candidates who can work onsite in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area as part of an established design and product organization.
Job Description As a UX Designer on the internal tools team, you will help shape intuitive, efficient experiences that support critical internal workflows. You’ll partner closely with a Lead UX Designer, senior leadership, product managers, engineers, and research partners to apply human-centered design practices throughout the product lifecycle.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role ideal for a designer who enjoys translating user insights into well-crafted, usable solutions and validating designs through research and data.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with UX leadership to translate product and business goals into clear UX strategies and solutions
Conduct user discovery to deeply understand workflows, pain points, and unmet needs
Design end-to-end experiences that balance user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints
Create UX deliverables including user flows, information architectures, wireframes, prototypes, and problem statements
Design beyond the happy path, accounting for error states, edge cases, and data variability
Plan, track, and manage design work in Jira while collaborating in an agile environment
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify usability issues and improvement opportunities
Test design concepts and prototypes with users to validate assumptions and refine solutions
Collaborate with research partners to frame hypotheses, measure outcomes, and assess design impact
Qualifications Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience in UX or Product Design
Proven ability to execute UX design across the full product lifecycle, from problem definition through delivery and iteration
Strong grounding in human-centered design practices with a clearly articulated design process
Experience producing and intentionally applying multiple levels of design fidelity
Expertise in Figma for design, prototyping, and collaboration
Strong skills in interaction design, information architecture, and UX visual design
Experience conducting user research and synthesizing findings into clear, actionable insights
Proficiency in UX methods such as journey mapping, workflow design, and usability testing
Experience designing enterprise or internal-facing software tools
Ability to design beyond the happy path, accounting for edge cases, error states, and data variability
Experience working in agile, cross-functional environments using tools such as Jira
Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills, including partnering with product, engineering, and research
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality craft
Working knowledge of web accessibility standards and inclusive design practices
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing complex internal tools or operational platforms at scale
Familiarity with using qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions
Experience collaborating closely with dedicated UX research partners
Background working within large, matrixed organizations
