Auto Casualty Claims Specialist

First Chicago Insurance Company is looking for an experienced Auto Bodily Injury Claims Specialist to investigate and settle complex automobile bodily injury claims, including casualty claims with severe injuries or litigation.

Responsibilities

Review and determine the course of action for each file using technical knowledge to support final disposition.

Conduct thorough investigations and maintain accurate documentation of each claim, covering coverage, liability, and damages.

Process bodily injury and coverage claims in accordance with established office procedures.

Work closely with third parties, plaintiff counsel, the Claim Director, and Operating Officer to determine necessary investigation steps.

Research case and statutory law to conduct proper claim investigation.

Document policy status, coverage, liability, and damages and notify the re‑insurer on qualifying claims.

Prepare and present claim evaluations to the appropriate settlement authority.

Maintain reasonable expense factors.

Handle other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

3–5 years of auto casualty claims experience (mandatory).

Experience with non‑standard auto claims (plus, not required).

Knowledge of legal and medical terminology.

Excellent negotiation, communication, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to pass state exam(s) required to become a licensed claims adjuster.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Estimated compensation range: $54,750 / year – $97,500 / year*.

*Published ranges are estimates. Offered compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
