Department Summary The University of North Texas at Dallas (UNT Dallas) School of Business invites applications for the position of Lecturer of Information Technology starting in Fall 2026. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and service, and to contribute to the growth of the UNT‑Dallas Information Technology program. Individuals with specific interests and experience in cybersecurity are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position Overview This position emphasizes innovative instructional practices and integration of experiential learning such as internships, service learning, and industry collaborations into core courses. The incumbent will support students in gaining the practical skills required for careers in cybersecurity and information technology.
Minimum Qualifications
An earned master's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate courses in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Computer Science.
Demonstrated effective writing and verbal communication skills.
Experience using technology in teaching and teaching in multiple modalities (hybrid, online, and face‑to‑face).
Evidence of significant academic research and/or applied experience in Cybersecurity.
Job Duties
Teach four (4) courses per semester and participate in service activities such as program development, course development, program assessment, and committee leadership.
Provide instruction in a full range of undergraduate Cybersecurity and Information Technology courses, including but not limited to Foundations of Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cloud Security, Computer Forensics, Computer Networks, and Programming.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctoral degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Academic experience working in a campus with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
Experience in developing both face‑to‑face and online courses.
Experience in curriculum development and program assessment.
Required License/Registration/Certifications None
Physical Requirements
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
Environmental Hazards
No adverse environmental conditions expected.
Work Schedule Monday to Friday 8:00–16:59 on campus with a flexible work arrangement available and the possibility of occasional remote work.
Driving University Vehicle No
